On August 16, 2005, Scherer’s Architectural Antiques, LLC, replaced Scherer’s Enterprises originally owned by Max and Jeri Scherer. Manuel worked for 30 plus years with Max and Jeri and over those years developed their same love, passion, and knowledge for preserving architectural antiques, and so the tradition continues.
Scherer’s Enterprises started over 50 years ago in Lincoln, Nebraska. Max and Jeri had a shared passion for the preservation and restoration of architectural antiques, and they worked together salvaging and restoring artifacts from older homes and historic buildings in Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding areas. Many of their architectural antiques and bricks have been incorporated into homes, restaurants, office buildings, and historic buildings across the country. A great deal of time, effort, and hard work went into the process of restoring these classic pieces of history.
We are also showcasing cast stone replicas of architectural artifacts and original pieces from historically prominent buildings that have been demolished in Omaha, Nebraska, and surrounding areas. Frank, The Urban Miner, as he likes to call himself, has painstakingly saved these beautiful and unusual pieces from demolition. We will also be offering other treasures that Frank has collected over the years. These are under the “Eclectic” section. These treasures are one-of-a-kind rare pieces.
Scherer’s Architectural Antiques, LLC has showcased a few stone cast murals of sculpted artwork by Jay Tschetter. Jay is nationally known for his brick sculptures and murals. Visit www.imagesinbrick.com for more information on Jay’s beautiful pieces.
We work with respectable and reliable suppliers locally, purchasing most of our inventory from the eastern Nebraska area. We also have high quality craftsmen in carpentry, iron work, glass work, re-casting, or electrical to restore those irreplaceable pieces from our past.
We hope you enjoy browsing through our site, and stop in often to see what is new. Let us help you restore your home or building to its original beauty; or we can supply you with quality vintage materials for new construction. We look forward to hearing from you!
